A night of fun and fundraising for Burra Town Hall
The St. Just Sisters, a dynamic duo of flamboyant performers, dedicated to bringing glamour and entertainment to regional communities, are gearing up for their upcoming show – the “Burra Bunnie Belles Show.” This marks their sixth show, and the St. Just Sisters are excited to once again bring stage-based drag to the Mid-North.
For just $30 you’ll buy yourself a night to remember filled with glitz, sequins, feathers, and the dazzling performances of the St Just Sisters along with their city Sisters Trisha Halliday and Izzy Goode.
The Burra Bunnie Belles Show, set for Saturday, March 23, at 7:30pm goes beyond being a night of entertainment. The St. Just Sisters are Drag Queens with a purpose, dedicated to seeing regional communities thrive by giving back to the town’s that support them. In a generous act, every profit generated from the show will contribute to improving the Burra Town Hall and its facilities.
The St. Just Sisters’ community involvement traces back to the creation of Missima Treat and KymmBerlei, also known as Derek Morris and Kymm Apostolides. Their initial mission was to support the Mount Bryan Soldiers Memorial Hall by raising funds to keep this asset in the hands of its community. With three successful shows under their belt, they’ve raised nearly $3000 for the only community-owned town hall in the Goyder Council area.
Having grown up in regional South Australia, and both locals to the Burra area, the St. Just Sisters understand the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in country towns. Their goal is to create fundraising opportunities for various community groups through glamorous stage performances, while promoting acceptance and diversity in regional communities.
The talented and flamboyant duo have previously lent their talents, free of charge, to organisations like the Terowie Citizens Association, Burra Town Hall, Burra History Group, and Burra Film Club, generously committing themselves to support a range of worthy local causes.
In addition to their upcoming Burra Town Hall fundraiser, the St. Just Sisters are actively involved in LGBTQIA+Mid North and Mid North Arts. The groups have joined forces in the past to host events such as The Country Pride Picnic and Feast and Fabulous Show held last November. Both dubbed “a roaring success”, an even larger event is in the planning stages for this November, poised to be the largest regional event on the Feast Festival Calendar, showcasing emerging and established artists from both local and interstate LGBTQIA+ communities.
Don’t miss your chance to grab yourself a ticket to the Burra Bunny Belles Show and be part of a night filled with glitz, glamour, and giving back.
