Rug Up and Wine Down in the Adelaide Hills with Winter Reds
If you’re someone who thinks winter is best spent in front of a fire with a glass of red in hand –  the Adelaide Hills Winter Reds festival has you covered!
From Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28, cellar doors across the Hills will come alive with roaring fires, bold wines, hearty food, and winter warming vibes. Whether you’re into laid-back afternoons sipping Shiraz with live tunes, or fancy five-course feasts with foodie royalty, the Winter Reds program has something to warm everyone up.
Grab your Winter Reds souvenir glass from a participating venue and build your own wine-lovers weekend from over 50 events on the program. There’s ticketed events with set menus and entertainment, or a range of more casual cellar door action, with food trucks, outdoor fires, live music and some of SA’s most sensational sips.
MasterChef, Matt Preston will be dusting off his finest cravat for the weekend. The 2025 Winter Reds Ambassador is teaming up with celebrated wine writer Tony Love and talented Adelaide Hills Winemakers for an unforgettable fireside long lunch at Lot 100.Â
Disco Vino at Bird in Hand is pairing Melbourne DJ duo, Disco Mediterranean with authentic Italian lasagne, house-made sandos, arancini, BIH Italian Series wines and their new-release lighter-style reds.
On the edge of the stunning Kuitpo Forest, there’s a cosy collaboration bringing together Lloyd Brothers, XO Wines, Lazy Ballerina and Kuitpo Brewing for a day of great wine, Adelaide Hills beer, soulful tunes and comfort food. Chilli Shack will be serving up some winter favourites, alongside Gonzalo’s mouthwatering asado-style pork belly banh mi, fresh off the flames.
Barrister’s Block will deliver a triple treat across the weekend, from a Meet the Maker and Sashimi Masterclass to kick off the festivities on Friday night, to the biggest party in the Hills on Saturday, with Motel Music, marquees, The Block Food Court and fire pits roaring. A Barrister’s Block Sunday Session in the Hayshed is the perfect way to round out the weekend. There’ll be live music, award-winning wines, local beers, cider and some ocean delicacies from Eyre Peninsula Seafood.
Golding wines is putting on a Feast to go with their signature Pinot and if you’re craving something spicy, El Rancho at The Lane is serving up Latin Flavours that’ll transport you from Crafers to Colombia.
Don’t want to worry about who’s driving? Too many reds to remember where you parked? Hop aboard the Winter Reds Bus Loops, running both days of the festival. For just $70, you’ll score a keepsake event glass (your ticket to taste) and transport to three general admission venues across the Hills – no maps, no stress, just good wine and good vibes.
So dig out the beanie, gather your crew, and head for the hills. Winter Reds is about slowing down, warming up and raising a glass to the best kind of winter — a red one.
