If a golden sandy beach, a pristine aqua ocean and a frothy amber ale sounds like your kind of Saturday afternoon, best you get in quickly and grab yourself a ticket to the Robe Beer Festival.
Increasing in popularity each year, the annual gathering of brewers was a sell out event in 2022, and despite upping this year’s capacity to 1500, tickets are expected to sell like an ice cold frothy on a hot Summer’s day.
The Festival will return to Robe’s stunning foreshore on October 28, with a big line-up of South Aussie and interstate brewers, a host of live bands on the main stage and an array of tasty food options.
For those who aren’t big on beer, never fear. There will be a great selection of local wine and cider, as well as plenty of non-alcoholic options. And for the foodies, get ready for the big drawcard – Chef Adam Brooks from Sails Restaurant, will be serving up his legendary Lobster Pie, fresh from the shores of SA’s lobster capital.
Another local favourite, Robe Town Brewery, will be part of the beer tasting fun. The unique boutique brewery makes a huge range of delicious beer, with fascinating old-school and low-tech methods, making it the only wood-fired brewery in Australia.
Also joining the long list of pop-up brewers is Yorke Peninsula’s famous Watsacowie Brewery, Noodledoof Brewing and Distilling Co will venture across the border from Victoria and there will be a great selection of beverages from Bowden Brewing, Beer No Evil, Shapeshifter and Tiny Fish Brew.
As well as quenching the thirst of Festival goers, judges will also be doing some sampling, before an evening presentation, awarding prizes for the best-brewed beers and ciders.
