Bigger, bolder and a globe-trotting ambassador for Cleve Running Festival 2025
After the massive success of the inaugural Cleve Running Festival in 2024, this year’s event will take the Eyre Peninsula by storm once again! On Sunday, September 28, the Cleve Running Festival is back, and it’s going to be bigger, better, and bolder than ever.
With 370 people signing up for the first event, the festival caused a ripple far beyond Cleve, bringing a sense of pride, and strong sense of community.
“The impact the 2024 event had on our district was far reaching, not only on the weekend but since the event we have made donations to the Cleve Men’s Shed and Hospital Auxiliary,” said Tina Traeger, President of the Cleve Running Festival Committee. “We are so excited to build on that momentum, with the same great events and exciting new additions to the Festival Village in 2025.”
The 2025 festival will again offer three distances: the Specsavers Port Lincoln Half Marathon, which is run-only, the Cleve Rural Traders 10km, which is open for both runners and walkers, and the Mt Millar Wind Farms 5km, also open to runners and walkers. Each event is capped at 150 entries, so don’t wait too long to register!

What’s new in 2025?
The Festival Village will be back, and this time it will be even bigger. Participants will be able to enjoy ice baths and massages to help with post-run recovery, a dedicated Cleve Wind Farms Medical Tent for any race-day injuries, and a host of family-friendly entertainment for all ages. The Kids Dash, which was a huge hit in 2024, will make a return, along with a swag of food and drink stalls to satisfy every taste. Plus, activities at the finish line will keep the whole family entertained as they cheer on the runners.
Running royalty hits the Eyre
And here’s the real kicker for 2025 – the Cleve Running Festival is welcoming its first official Event Ambassador: Tim Franklin, the globe-trotting runner known for his adventure series Tim Runs the World. Tim ran through the Eyre Peninsula during his world tour and was so inspired by the region that he jumped at the chance to get involved.

“To have the inspiring Tim Franklin agree to be our event ambassador is extremely exciting,” Tina shared. “The fact that he loved his time running through the Eyre Peninsula and wants to return speaks volumes about how special our region is.”
Tim will be joining the Cleve community in the days leading up to the event, participating in local activities, and sharing his remarkable running journey and passion for adventure with everyone.
