Janine Mercer celebrates life with an all-in Chunky Custard fundraiser

Wallaroo’s about to get loud, proud and totally 80s – and it’s all for a brilliant cause.

Get ready to dust off the leg warmers and channel your inner Madonna or Bon Jovi, because Chunky Custard – South Australia’s most legendary party band – is hitting the Copper Coast for a night of epic tunes, outrageous outfits, and non-stop dancing.

The high energy show, “Pudding On A Show For Charity”, is the brainchild of Janine Mercer, a well-known Yorke Peninsula local who’s celebrating an incredible 10 years cancer-free. And what better way to mark the milestone than with a giant 80s bash that raises money for the McGrath Foundation, which provides vital breast care nurses and support to individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

Event organisers, Kerry Baker, Sonny Coombs, Janine Mercer and Karen Stevens.

“Ten years cancer free is a real milestone,” Janine said. “There were times when I didn’t know if I’d make it this far, so I wanted to mark the occasion
in a big way – not just to celebrate, but to create hope and awareness for others going through their own journey. It’s a cause that’s close to my heart, and I’m incredibly grateful to the community for getting behind it.”

From dazzling costumes (yes, you can pull out your best 80’s gear too) and crowd-pleasing covers to classic 80s movie hits, Chunky Custard will serve up all the nostalgia you can handle. So whether you’re a die-hard 80s tragic or just in it for the good vibes and a good cause, get your tickets now to make sure you’re part of the fun.
