Celebrate the best of the Barossa as the Vintage Festival rings in another big year

Church bells across the Barossa will start ringing from 6:30pm TONIGHT, to mark the beginning of another exciting and action-packed Barossa Vintage Festival. From Williamstown to Kapunda, Keyneton to Marananga, and all the towns in between, the bells will chime together to kick things off. It’s a lovely way to mark the start of what’s shaping up to be a pretty epic festival!

With over 85 events packed into just five days, there’s no shortage of ways to dive into the fun. Festivalgoers can enjoy delectable Barossa food and wine while soaking up the music, art, history, and festive atmosphere.

Among the standout events on this year’s program are a few much-loved favourites, back again and definitely worth planning around. The Ziegenmarkt in Tanunda brings the region’s old goat trading days back to life, complete with live auctions, Barossa breakfast fare, and local producers selling everything from pickles to pastries.

The creative spirit of the region is also on full display with the Scarecrow Trail. You’ll spot over 150 scarecrows from Roseworthy to Mt Pleasant, each showing off the community’s creativity. Take a drive, vote for your favourite, and discover these straw-filled personalities at shops, front yards, and cellar doors across the Barossa.

Grapestomp is back, and it’s going mobile this year, with heats taking place in different towns throughout the week. If you’ve ever wanted to get your feet dirty with some good old-fashioned grape stomping, this is your moment. The final tally and winning team will be revealed at the Great Vintage Picnic in Lyndoch on Sunday.

For those who prefer to wave than stomp, the Vintage Festival Parade on April 26 is a must-see. Starting in Nuriootpa, this historic parade winds its way to Tanunda, where the fun continues at the After Parade Party at Tanunda Oval. Packed with food trucks, live music, wine tastings, and family-friendly activities, you’ll also have a chance to get up close and personal with the parade floats.

While you’re there, warm up your vocal cords and belt out some bangers in the Barossa Big Sing – a massive, feel-good sing-along that’s open to everyone. And don’t miss the Club Vintage party – a retro-themed bash where you can carve up the dance floor and groove your way through the decades while sipping delicious cocktails.

There’s heaps more where that came from too, so jump over to barossavintagefestival.com for the full program and ticket details.
