From the organisers who know how to turn meat and booze into a long weekend fiesta, comes this weekend’s South East Beer and BBQ Fest.
All of the frothy goodness and smokey cuts you’ve come to love from the Beer and BBQ Festival will take over Mount Gambier’s Railway Lands for a massive weekend of live music, sizzling smells and epic entertainment.
The festival rolls into town this Saturday. Day one is an adults only affair, with pumping music across two big stages, including over the border bands, The Smith Street Band and The Pretty Littles, plus a convoy of Adelaide entertainers and local legends, Sexy As Shit.
The “Sunday Roast” is a family-friendly day, served with equal parts beer and music and a generous side of entertainment, including legendary Aussie Aria Award winner, Regurgitator.
Brewers will be rolling in from all directions, including Adelaide favourites, Pirate Life, Big Shed Brewing and Mismatch, plus some of the Limestone Coast’s finest Brewmasters including the Woolstore, Loophole and the team from Little Rippa. There will be plenty of non-beer options to chose from too from cider, seltzer, wine, gin, rum, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
To tantalise the taste buds even more, there’s an epic BBQ line-up curated by Alana Brabin (Big Bad Wolf) and local chef Kirby Shearing (Elementary by Soul Co). Melbourne legends, Burn City Smokers will be there, popular SA caterers, Smokey Uppercuts will make the trip from Whyalla and local Meat Maestro’s from Lumberjack BBQ will also be turning up the heat. There’s also loads of other food options, from Hoy Pinoy’s Filipino Fire and some exciting collaborations between Pirate Life Kitchen’s Rocky Oliveria and the team behind Australia’s best beef, Mayura Station. And believe it or not, vegetarians and vegans can get in on the BBQ appreciation too.
On top of all of that there’s Skateboarding and BMX demos, the Southern Steak Showdown & Backyard BBQ Championship, a hot dog eating comp and the Beer Bod Wet T-Shirt Championships will be a site for sore eyes!
It’s a feast of food and frothies, and the line-up of stalls, food and events is too big to list, so if you need more reasons to head to the Mount for the long-weekend, click here.
