Sip, shop, and enjoy Victor Harbor’s artistic scene this January
Victor Harbor is the place to be this January as the Twilight Victor Harbor Artisan Markets transform Railway Terrace into a hub of handmade treasures, gourmet food, and live music.
Held each Saturday throughout January the markets align with the much-loved Rotary Art Show held across the road on Warland Reserve. Together, these events offer an unbeatable way to explore Victor Harbor’s artistic scene. Stroll through the artisan stalls, meet talented local creators, and take home one-of-a-kind items while supporting small businesses.
The markets aren’t just for shoppers either. This year, artists are invited to set up on the lawns to paint, draw, and showcase their work alfresco style. It’s a fabulous opportunity for both artists and market-goers to enjoy watching art come to life.
And for those who have a hankering for some creative hands-on fun, Tracey Grivell’s Summer Art Club is hosting creative workshops at the Victor Harbor Information Centre. You can try your hand at Pour or Spin Painting and Watercolour Tape Art or Leaf Prints. These sessions are perfect for all ages and a great way to unleash your inner artist.
A new feature that wine lovers will relish is the Wine Garden retreat space by Langhorne Creek Wine Region Co. Enjoy a tipple each week from local wineries, including Bremerton Wines, Kanoetree Wines, Next Crop Wines, and The Pawn Wine Co, all while soaking in the market’s creative atmosphere.
Adding some pizzazz and keeping the festival atmosphere flowing, each Saturday brings a unique event, including a Poetry Slam, laugh-out-loud Good/Bad Dad Joke Competition, and a Stand-Up Comedy Jam. For music lovers, the Original Song Competition will feature fresh talent and original tunes. Entry for these events is just $10, with $100 cash prizes up for grabs.
With so much to see and do, the Twilight Victor Harbor Artisan Markets and the Rotary Art Show are set to make a fabulous summer on the Fleurieu.
