CFS Car Cutting Demo and Family Fun at Cape Jervis Fete
The Cape Jervis Fete is bringing the community together for a day of fun, food, and entertainment. This free event, run by the local Community Club, offers plenty of activities to keep both the kids and adults entertained
Kicking things off at 11am, Mayor Darryl Houston will officially open the fete and unveil the brand-new half-court basketball court at the Community Club, giving locals a fabulous new spot to shoot some hoops.
For the little ones, there’s free face painting, a children’s art show, and loads of games including a hole-in-one golf competition, lucky dips, as well as the pump bike park and new basketball court ready for use. Pack your furry (or feathered) friends to enter the pet show and watch the local CFS showing off their skills as they cut up a car with a Road Crash Recovery demonstration.
Adults can enjoy browsing market stalls featuring local artists, crafts and unique items like Columbian treasures and indoor plants from The Rolling Jungle. A naturopath will be on hand to share wellness tips and for those who fancy a tipple, Fleurieu Gin will be among the many stall holders scattered throughout the Community Club. Plus, community services including Skylight Mental Health, NDIS support, My Aged Care, and APM Disability Employment services will be on-site, offering valuable information.
Food lovers won’t be disappointed with vendors offering everything from Middle Eastern cuisine and fresh coffee to delicious pies and pasties. The CFS will also be firing up the barbecue for a sausage sizzle, and a Devonshire tea will be available for those looking to indulge in some sweet treats.
The addition of live music by local performers, including folk singer-songwriter Anne Toner, will create the perfect atmosphere for a celebration of community at Cape Jervis.
