A Record Attempt, Free BBQ And A Full Day Out For Families On The Yorke Peninsula
Ever thought about being part of a record-breaking moment… without having to run a marathon or climb a mountain? Well, this one’s got your name all over it.
The YP Family and Friends Event is coming to Maitland Oval this weekend, with one simple goal, to break the record for the largest Fat Farmers group workout.
More Than Just A Workout
Before you panic, it’s not all sweat and sore muscles.
To kick the morning off, there’ll be an optional light workout with the Fat Farmers Champions and former Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas. The rest of the day is all about getting off the farm, catching up with locals, and bringing the whole family along.
Hosted by the YP Fat Farmers groups, this free event is shaping up as a relaxed catch-up with a few extras thrown in to keep everyone happy.
Tom Jonas will share some footy tips and a kick, there’ll be a free BBQ, bouncing castle, lawn games, and even a bit of storytelling for the kids with local author Sinead Saint, who’ll be sharing her book George Goes To The Farm.
A Crack At The Record
If you do decide to jump into the workout, you’ll be part of something pretty inspiring, helping put the Yorke Peninsula on the map with a crack at that record.
The day is supported by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions, through the SA Government’s $97 million Drought Support Package.
Organisers say registrations are filling fast, so if you’re keen to be part of it, don’t sit on the fence too long.
