North Beach debuts Wallaroo Kite Festival

After being postponed due to bad weather, the first-ever Wallaroo Kite Festival is ready to launch at North Beach on Sunday November 2 , with an afternoon that’ll put smiles on everyone’s faces.

The skies over Wallaroo’s foreshore will be bursting with colour as the Adelaide Kite Flying Association (the same crew behind the Adelaide International Kite Festival at Semaphore) brings in their giant, eye-catching displays. Alongside them, a community zone will give locals and visitors the chance to fly their own creations and be part of the fun.

Kids can get hands-on and creative at the free DIY kite decorating station before heading out to test their masterpiece in the sea breeze. And if you don’t have a kite at home, no worries – there’ll be stalls selling kites on the day, so no one misses out.

YP Donuts and Rock’n Soft Serve food vans will be on the shoreline serving up sweet treats, while event supporter North Beach Kitchen will keep everyone fuelled with their delicious menu. And if you’re keen to make a weekend of it, the North Beach Holiday Park is right there for an easy stayover.

Copper Coast Council hosts the festival with strong support from locals, and of course, we’ll all be keeping our fingers crossed for perfect kite-flying weather on the day.

Best of all, the Wallaroo Kite Festival is free and open to everyone. Bring your family, bring your mates, and get ready to see the skies over North Beach transformed.

When: Sunday, Nov 2 2025 – 2pm – 5pm
