Moonta Bay’s walk for Heartkids shows kids like Arlo they’re not alone
On Sunday, October 12, Moonta Bay will host Two Feet & A Heartbeat – HeartKids’ annual fundraising walk uniting communities across Australia. It’s a chance to walk side by side with local families, carry a flag that represents your reason for walking, and show that no one on this journey is ever alone.
Every week in Australia, four young lives are lost to childhood-onset heart disease. Every single day, eight babies are born with a heart condition. Behind each of those numbers is a child, a family, and a community touched forever.

For families like five-year-old Arlo’s, HeartKids has been a lifeline. Born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, Arlo faced his first open-heart surgery at just 36 hours old. This July, he underwent his fifth surgery, and today he’s thriving.
Arlos’ Mum Tayla has been thankful to have HeartKids by her family’s side since day one.
“They gave us a community, a voice when the medical world took over, and ears that truly listened. Being chosen as an ambassador for Two Feet & A Heartbeat is one of the greatest honours of our journey so far — a chance to share not only Arlo’s story, but the stories of all heart warriors and their incredible families.”
