Mad March Brings the Fun to Maitland Show

Scarecrows, sausage rolls, V8 Utes and one very tricky lawnmower reversing course — the Maitland Show is back on Saturday, March 21.

From creative pavilion entries to Quad Bikes tearing it up in the arena, there’s plenty happening across the day before a spectacular 8:30pm fireworks display lights up the night sky.

Kids can burn off some energy in the FREE Kids Zone, thanks to Jump Easy, get up close with the friendly animals at Farmer Darcy’s Travelling Farm and try their luck on the sideshow games until late.

Feeling competitive? The legendary Lawnmower Reversing Competition will once again test your skills on the timed course — with bragging rights (and prizes) up for grabs.

Maitland Show on the Yorke Peninsula has a hotly contested lawnmower backing competition.

The Maitland Show Ute Muster will also roll in, with an impressive display of shiny bullbars and oversized mud flaps.

Inside the Ag Shed, visitors can check out an impressive agricultural display from across the region, along with live shearing demonstrations and blacksmithing — a traditional skill that’s not often seen today.

And when hunger strikes, there’ll be a great range of food vans on site, as well as the ever-popular Pumpkin Kitchen serving up Devonshire teas, lunch and dinner.

So it’s time to get making, baking, creating, growing and building — and bring the whole crew along for a day at the show.
