For two weekends in November – Australia’s biggest pre-loved treasure hunt, Garage Sale Trail

South Aussies, it’s time to dust off your trestle tables and wheel out those “what-was-I-thinking?” purchases – the Garage Sale Trail is back, and it’s shaping up to be an absolute rummage-fest!

Running over two weekends — November 8–9 and 15–16, the annual event is the perfect excuse to declutter, make a few bucks, and maybe even meet your new best mate over a box of mismatched Tupperware.

Garage Sale Trail is happening in November, giving South Aussies a chance to reuse, reduce and recycle.

And we’re not talking small change here – last year, locals on the Yorke Peninsula sold or reused more than 4,200 items, pocketing nearly $25,000 and saving a whole lot of goods from winding up in landfill.

This year, the trail’s popping up everywhere – Whyalla’s going all-in with around 40 sales dotted across town. Port Augusta’s jumping in for the first time with 48 registered sites, plus the busy Stirling North Markets joining the fun. Up north, there’s a couple of families from Peterborough and Yongala clearing out the sheds, and the Barossa is also turning into a second-hand shopper’s paradise.

Whether you’re treasure-hunting, downsizing, or just looking for an excuse to part ways with that breadmaker you’ve never used – this is your moment.

Grab the map, plan your route, and get ready to rummage, haggle, and high-five your way through Australia’s biggest pre-loved treasure hunt. Oh, and here’s Greater SA’s guide to country markets you might want to call into while you’re at it.
