Fleurieu Food Festival Serves Up Hands-On Culinary Adventures for the Month of August

Clear your calendar and pack your appetite, because McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu will be South Australia’s ultimate foodie playground this August.

From vineyard pasta classes to cooking demos with local legends, Fleurieu Food Festival runs all month long and brings together the very best of the region – the produce, the people, and the paddock-to-plate magic that makes this part of the world so special.

Here’s a sample of what’s on the menu

Willunga Farmers Market is levelling up with oyster shucking classes, citrus workshops and chef-led demos in amongst the freshest produce stalls in the country.

Chapel Hill’s 3-day culinary escape is perfect for serious foodies wanting to cook, sip and stay in the heart of wine country.

Field Fork Vine at Angove Vineyard Kitchen is putting on a long lunch that showcases the region’s best producers in one epic feast (and yes, the vineyard views are as good as they sound).

Cut Hill Distillery is pairing handcrafted gin with mozzarella-making for a truly unique tasting session. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, Victor Harbor’s confectionery masterclasses are a must.

At Woodstock Wines, you can roll up your sleeves and discover the joy of making Tuscan-style gnudi in an immersive hands-on masterclass.

And if you’re keen to get your hands dirty, McCarthy’s Orchard is hosting a creative day out where you can try your hand at traditional crafts while surrounded by fruit trees and Fleurieu views.

Fleurieu Food Festival is the perfect excuse for a day trip – or better yet, a weekend of wining, dining and discovering. And it’s just one of three unique festivals that make up Fleurieu Unearthed –Grenache & Gourmet and Cellar Treasures also invitie you to dig a little deeper, linger a little longer, and discover the stories behind the region.
