Sidewood Estate’s 2025 Pinot Gris has just been named a winner in the Pinot Gris/Grigio category at Dan Murphy’s 2026 Best in Glass Awards.
The Sidewood name is already well known to the Greater SA team (purely for professional research purposes, of course), and this latest accolade adds to an already impressive run for the Adelaide Hills winery.
The 2025 Pinot Gris previously claimed the Trophy for Best Pinot Gris/Grigio at the Royal Sydney Wine Show. The delectable drop also scored 96 points and Top Gold at the Royal Perth Wine Show, and picked up multiple 95-point reviews from respected wine critics.
A Business Built on Sustainability
Crafted from sustainably grown fruit hand-picked across Sidewood’s Charleston and Oakbank vineyards, the wine combines freshness with texture thanks to partial wild fermentation in French oak.
According to Sidewood Owner and Vigneron Owen Inglis, the recognition is particularly exciting because it places the Adelaide Hills wine in front of millions of Australians.
“We genuinely believe this Sidewood Pinot Gris is the best Pinot Gris coming out of the Adelaide Hills, and one of the best in Australia,” he said.
“We’re thrilled because this Best in Glass recognition puts our Pinot Gris in front of millions of Australians who buy their wine at Dan Murphy’s.”
The wine features aromatics of pear, rosewater and ginger, with notes of white nectarine and quince balanced by a subtle nutty finish.
