Local volunteers say ticket sales in the coming days will determine whether ‘Riding Out the Bloom’ can be delivered as planned
Pulled together by passionate locals, ‘Riding Out the Bloom’ aims to support Fleurieu businesses who took a hard knock after the algal bloom hit.
Solely volunteer-run, this event needs your support. Without enough tickets sold, locals will be left personally footing the bill. They desperately want to deliver the night they’ve planned, but that can only happen with enough bums on seats, or in this case, bums on grass.
Alongside Braithwaite, the line-up includes Taylor Sheridan, My Chérie and Old Town Rd Country Dance Party on DJ duties. Local sporting and community clubs will run the bar, with funds raised flowing back into their clubs. Plus, all proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Goolwa Community Association, supporting locally run community events and the introduction of small grants for businesses and groups affected by the algal bloom.
And while you’re there, why not make a weekend of it and enjoy one of South Australia’s favourite holiday spots. Live music, a coastal getaway, and a crowd ready to belt out some bangers makes for a perfect summer weekend.
So hop to it, grab a ticket, and ride your way to Goolwa. This town is counting on you.
