Stephen Peacocke returns as SA takes the spotlight in the Logie-winning drama

South Australia is taking centre stage when RFDS season 3 hits Channel 7 and 7plus this October, filmed across the Flinders Ranges, Quorn, Port Augusta and Adelaide Studios.

Filmed here for the first time, the Logie-winning drama delivers a mix of heart-stopping emergencies, sweeping outback scenery, and, let’s be honest, Stephen Peacocke looking hotter than the Aussie sun.

Inspired by real-life stories, RFDS follows the doctors, nurses, pilots and support crews of the Royal Flying Doctor Service as they tackle emergencies in some of the toughest conditions in the country. In season 3, the team is forced to grapple with the fallout from a mass-casualty bus crash – the kind of crisis that pushes everyone to the edge.

Why RFDS Season 3 is big news for South Australia

The shoot wasn’t just good for our screens – it pumped more than $10 million into the state’s economy and created more than 450 jobs for local cast, crew and extras. Much of that spending also flowed through to transport, construction, hospitality and retail.

Arts Minister Andrea Michaels said the series was a huge win for SA.

“Securing this award-winning series was a coup for our state with it bringing an incredible $10 million into South Australia’s economy and creating hundreds of jobs for our local screen sector. The series will showcase Adelaide and our incredible Flinders Ranges to a national audience, which will have ongoing tourism benefits for our magnificent regions.”

The series also brings back fan favourites, with Peacocke leading a strong line-up including Emma Hamilton, Rob Collins, Justine Clarke, Ash Ricardo, Emma Harvie and Thomas Weatherall, with newcomer Rick Davies.
