Art, Music, Food And Wine Return To Penola And Coonawarra Over Three Big Days

The Penola Coonawarra region comes alive over three big days with the return of the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival.

A highlight on the region’s event calendar and now in its 34th year, the festival has been running since 1991 and continues to celebrate the art of the Limestone Coast.

This year’s theme is “Whimsical”, with the festival set to embrace the spirit of the community through workshops, art exhibitions, music, competitions, entertainment, market stalls, and food and wine.

The festival also has a new ‘home’ in the form of Still Water Studios in the heart of Penola’s Church Street. As the hub of the festival, the studio will serve as a meeting place for people to plan their festival experience.

During the festival, and for a month after, the studio will showcase entries for this year’s Poets of Penola Acquisitive Art Prize, with entrants drawing inspiration from poets with local connections, Adam Lindsay Gordon, William Henry Ogilvie and John Shaw Neilson.

With dozens of events for art lovers of all ages, the festival promises to offer something for everyone while showcasing the creativity and character that define the Limestone Coast.
