Eight Artists Take The Stage At The Cradock Hotel

The Cradock Hotel is a little pub with a massive heart, and that heart is set to beat a bit harder on Saturday May 23rd with a huge concert – Outback Revival: A Day in the Dirt.

Cradock sits on the RM Williams Way, between Carrieton and Hawker. It’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it places, but the type of town that’ll have you hooked the minute you stop. The vistas are breathtaking, the sunsets are the sort that photos can never do justice, and the pub is quintessentially outback, where you’ll always be greeted with a warm smile and cold beer.

Ever since buying the historic pub, owners Amy and Dave Wallis have dreamt of putting on a concert to create a drawcard weekend and give something back to the locals who support them year-round.

Partnering with the local crew at Echo Road Audio, they’ve pulled together a brilliant South Australian line-up that matches the setting. Add in the Flinders Ranges looking their absolute best right now, and you’ve got a pretty good reason to head north with recent rains transforming the landscape into a rolling carpet of green.

The pub itself will be shut for the day, but don’t panic, everything shifts out the back and into the dirt, just like the name promises. Food trucks, an outdoor bar, space for the kids, and that wide-open backdrop turn this into more than just a gig.

The Line-Up

The day kicks off from 12.30pm with acoustic sets, starting with Port Pirie’s Maxxx, known for his mix of covers and originals with a quirky edge. Quorn’s Jaz Kimber follows with a blend of classic country and songs shaped by her early years in Blinman, while Port Augusta’s Gary Mannion and Orroroo’s John O’Dea round out the early sets, both bringing plenty of local flavour and lived-in stories to the stage.

As the sun starts to drop, Kadina’s Tiff Reynolds takes the stage with a high-energy acoustic set. After her time on The Voice, she’s no stranger to a crowd and knows how to get one moving.

Once the sun’s down, things shift up a gear. Scott Rathman Jnr takes the stage with a powerful full band set, blending country and rock. He’s already teasing new music, with his next album launching soon. With roots in Arrernte country, his performance brings something pretty special to the night.

From there, Port Lincoln’s Jo Page hits the stage with her country rock sound, big vocals and plenty of attitude, before Adelaide rockers Prime Mover round out the night with a roaring set that’s sure to please the party animals. Though they’re labelled as a country band, anything and everything is possible with these lads, and it’s got to be seen to be believed.

Make A Weekend Of It

With the Hawker races on the following weekend, you’ve got a pretty good excuse to hang around and make a few days of it.

Camping is available at the Cradock Oval, but it’s limited, so it might pay to look at Hawker, Quorn or a nearby station stay if you’re after a bit more comfort.

Attending this event comes with bragging rights, so make sure you’re on the right side of the conversation and grab your tickets for an unforgettable day of fun and entertainment. In the dirt. At Cradock.
