After more than ten years, the Murray Bridge Rodeo rides back into town

After more than a decade off the circuit, the Murray Bridge Rodeo is making a long-awaited return over Australia Day weekend, and it’s coming back big!

Locked in for Saturday January 24 at the Monarto Sporting Complex, this full points rodeo has been pulled together in just 12 weeks. With only 3000 tickets available, and more than half sold already, you’ll want to grab yours before they’re all snapped up.

The drive to breath life back into the Murray Bridge Rodeo came from organiser Allison Thomas and her rodeo-mad family. With junior events getting fewer and further apart, she stepped in and made it happen!

The result is a dinky-di, full-program rodeo. Saddle bronc, bareback, bull ride, steer wrestling, rope and tie, team roping, breakaway, barrel racing and junior events all feature. There’s also a ‘Cow Kid’ hour, giving young kids and first-timers the chance to have a go and get a feel for the arena.

Off the dirt, there’s plenty happening too. Food vans will be on site throughout the afternoon and evening, and once the dust settles, live music from Barking Ants will keep the crowd pumping.

Now a full circuit points event, the rodeo has the backing of the rodeo board, local council, sponsors and a community keen to see it back where it belongs.
