From high-speed mowers to lakeside cocktails and mullet wigs, Meningie’s going all out this long weekend
If you thought your old Victa was only good for knocking down a patch of kikuyu, think again. Meningie’s proving lawn mowers were made for much more than neat gardens, as the South Australian Lawn Mower Racing Association fires up “Mowers at Meningie” on Sunday, October 5.
From 10am at the Meningie Hotel, you’ll be in for some fast and furious racing as these stripped back, tuned up mowing machines chew dirt at full speed. It’s mower mayhem at its best, and the only thing getting cut here is the track.
And why not make a whole weekend of it? On Saturday, October 4, Lake Albert Caravan Park is hosting “Lakeside Gourmet at the Park,” with gin from Twin Bridge Distillery, great food and coffee, and live music from Billy W – complete with an 80s dress-up theme.
Who knew the secret to a fabulous long weekend was gin, an 80s mullet wig, and a Victa on steroids?
