If you’ve ever watched Antiques Roadshow and wondered whether that old cup and saucer you’ve been holding onto might actually be worth something, here’s your chance to find out.
The Mid North Antique Fair & Roadshow returns on Saturday, October 24, transforming the historic Koonowla Estate, just outside of Auburn, into a celebration of everything old, collectable and full of stories.
Think Antiques Roadshow… with Clare Valley Wine
With its grand old buildings and sweeping vineyard views, Koonowla wouldn’t look out of place hosting an episode of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. Only here, it’s out with the Engish tea and in with Clare Valley wine.
The grand old wine estates is a fitting backdrop for Antique Fair and Roadshow. Visitors can browse vintage treasures, retro finds, jewellery, books, records, furniture, memorabilia and collectables, with one of the biggest drawcards – the Roadshow itself. Professional appraisers will be on hand throughout the day to cast an expert eye over your antiques and collectables.
The event will also feature workshops on collecting and caring for antiques, guided tours of the historic homestead, history displays inside the old stables and wine tastings at Koonowla’s cellar door.
Food, Fashion and Live Entertainment
There’ll also be a speakeasy-style bar serving locally crafted Sawmill Gin, live 1920s delta blues from Frankie & Savva, and fashion parades with a vintage twist — if you like what you see on the runway, you can buy it straight off the model.
Food vendors will be spread throughout the grounds, with plenty of spots to pull up a picnic rug, enjoy lunch and spend the day wandering the estate.
Best of all, the event is family friendly and dog friendly, with four-legged visitors welcome on a lead.
