Matt Preston Returns to the Adelaide Hills for Two Exclusive Festival Events
One of Australia’s most recognisable food personalities is heading back to the Adelaide Hills this winter, with Matt Preston returning as the headline guest for Winter Reds 2026.
The much-loved winter wine festival takes over the Adelaide Hills from July 24 to 26, bringing together cool-climate reds, long lunches, crackling fires, cellar door celebrations and some of the region’s best food experiences.
For the second year running, Preston will be a major drawcard, appearing at two exclusive events across the weekend while also making special guest appearances throughout the festival.
A Housewarming With Matt Preston
The weekend kicks off with Matt Preston’s Housewarming at Vinteloper on Friday night.
Set inside Vinteloper’s hilltop home, the event swaps formal dining for a relaxed house-party atmosphere, complete with seasonal food, crackling fires and a chance to rub shoulders with Preston himself.
Guests will enjoy generous roaming bites and warming winter dishes created by celebrity chef Warren Mendes, Preston and the Vinteloper team.
Long Lunches And Winter Feasts
On Sunday, Preston heads to Golding Wines for Preston’s Plates, a long-table feast celebrating the best of the Adelaide Hills in winter.
The shared feast has been curated by Preston alongside Warren Mendes and Golding Wines Head Chef Evert van Niekerk, with seasonal produce, fire-fuelled winter flavours and Adelaide Hills reds taking centre stage.
And yes, there’s every chance a cravat or two will make an appearance.

While Preston’s events are likely to sell quickly, they’re just one part of a packed Winter Reds program.
Across three days, wineries throughout the Adelaide Hills will host everything from cellar door parties and wine tastings to live music, winter-inspired menus and exclusive festival experiences.
