Love, crime and a glass of wine are proving a popular combination in Balaklava, with half the tickets already sold for this year’s Love, Crime and Wine Author Panel.
Balaklava Community Library will bring four Australian authors to town on Wednesday, October 21, for its annual night of books, conversation, drinks and murder – but strictly of the fictional kind.
This year’s line-up features Fiona McIntosh, Jack Heath, Amy Matthews and Matt Rogers, covering everything from historical fiction and romance to crime and fast-paced thrillers.
A Million Books And Counting
Fiona McIntosh is an internationally bestselling South Australian author whose extensive catalogue spans historical fiction, crime, fantasy and children’s books.
Best known these days for her historical novels, she’s also the author behind the popular Jack Hawksworth crime series and runs fiction masterclasses for aspiring writers.
Joining her is award-winning bestselling author Jack Heath, who started young, writing his first novel while still at high school and landing his first publishing deal as a teenager.
He’s since written more than 40 books for adults and younger readers, including crime novels and thrillers.
From Romance To Thrillers
Adelaide author Amy Matthews will bring romance and contemporary fiction to the mix this October.
An award-winning author and Associate Professor in Creative Writing at Flinders University, she also writes historical romance under the name Amy Barry.
Matt Rogers rounds out the four-author panel with a huge catalogue of thrillers behind him.
He started self-publishing at 18 and went on to write more than 35 novels in eight years, with his books collectively selling more than one million copies.
After hearing from the authors, guests will have the chance to stick around for drinks and bites, buy a few books and get them signed.
And at only $5 a ticket, if love, crime, wine and a few good books sound like your thing, you might want to get onto this one sooner rather than later.
