Jamestown Show – SA’s Premier Country Show
If you like your weekends loud, woolly, and full of flavour, chuck October 5–6 in your calendar and get yourself to the Jamestown Show – a proper country bash that pulls the region together for two ripper days of fun.
Held at the Victoria Park Showgrounds on the Sunday and Monday of the October long weekend, this year’s Show is rolling out everything from livestock judging and junior ag comps to food stalls, fashion parades and fireworks. And yep – the iconic Speed Shear comp is back, so expect the blades to be flying, the wool to be piling, and the crowd to be loud.
The Show’s a full-blown celebration of local talent and tenacity – especially important in a year where drought has left its mark on the whole community. But if there’s one thing this region’s known for, it’s digging deep and turning up.

Kids can go wild in the giant sandpit, bounce themselves silly on the inflatables, or catch the incredible working dogs in action. And while they’re busy, grown-ups can check out the produce displays, wool comps, fashion parade and cooking demos – or sneak off for a sneaky slice of woodfired pizza and a cold drink.
Day one goes out with a bang – literally – thanks to the epic WSB Fireworks Display. And as the night sky lights up, you can catch live music by The Round House, cheer on the good ol’ fashioned ute pull, and watch the legendary sheaf toss comp in action. Monday keeps the energy high with show rides, sideshow alley antics, homecrafts, working dog demos, vintage cars, and enough hot spuds, strawberries and ice cream to feed a small nation.

The best bit? Your ticket gets you two full days of Show goodness for the price of one. So round up your crew – whether you’re local, lapsed local, or just keen to see what a real country show looks like – and make a weekend of it.
