Flipping the script – helping feed the farmers who feed us
It’s not often we get the chance to give back in a way that’s simple, practical, and genuinely helpful – but this is one of those moments.
Thanks to a collaboration between Woodlane Orchard and Rural Business Support, the Families Feeding Farmers – Pay It Forward campaign is your chance to put a meal on the table of someone who’s spent their life putting food on ours.
For just $50, you can donate a Farmer Pack filled with hearty, shelf-stable meals, made from rescued local produce by the team at Woodlane Orchard.
This small-but-mighty social enterprise based just outside Murray Bridge is known for turning surplus or “imperfect” fruit and veg into delicious, no-fuss meals. Now, with the help of Rural Business Support (RBS), they’re getting those meals into the homes of families doing it hard right now.

Prepared by hand and delivered via RBS’s network of Rural Financial Counsellors, each pack is a simple but meaningful show of support.
“This is about community supporting community,” says Kelly Johnson, founder of Woodlane Orchard and 2025 South Australian AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award Winner. “We rescue fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste, turn it into shelf-stable meals, and – with RBS – get it into the homes of families who truly need a hand. It’s a beautiful example of what’s possible when we come together with purpose.”
Each Pay It Forward Farmer Pack includes:
-
Apricot Curry
-
Chow Mein
-
Savoury Rice
-
Apricot Rice Pudding
-
Dried Apples
Delivered directly to RBS’s Murray Bridge office, the packs are shared thoughtfully and discreetly with families already receiving support.
“Right now, our team is working alongside more than 900 farming families across South Australia,” says Rural Business Support CEO Brett Smith. “These hampers may seem small, but they have the potential to make a meaningful difference – offering practical relief during tough times and, just as importantly, sending a powerful message: you’re not alone, we see you, we value you, and we’re here to help.”
