A Farming Fiesta – Halcyon Stables Dishes up Yorke Peninsula Finest Fare At Tasting Australia Event
There’s something extra about a meal that’s grown, caught and prepared close to home.
On Friday, May 8, Fire + Flour + Fiddles — A Farming Fiesta, is serving up a night of homegrown happiness, with a Tasting Australia event at Halcyon Stables on the Yorke Peninsula.
Set at Sandilands, Halcyon Stables has quickly built a reputation as one of the Peninsula’s favourite event spaces. A heritage stone barn and stables perfectly blend elegance with the region’s rural charm.
Not Your Standard Sit-Down Dinner
The evening kicks off outdoors at golden hour, with the smell of delicious food cooking over fire. Barossa-based chef Peter Clarke (Vintners Bar & Grill) will lead a five-course shared feast built around Yorke Peninsula produce — seafood, seasonal vegetables, grains and local ingredients.

From there, guests move inside the restored stables, where long tables, timber beams and candlelight create a warm, communal feel. A highlight of the evening comes with the breaking of wood-fired sourdough made from local grain — a simple nod to the region and the generations behind it.
A local farmer will share insights into life on the land — the realities, the challenges and the resilience that shape the Yorke Peninsula. Live folk music from Castle Bats and James Sweeney will bring the whole night together.
With matched wines included and limited seats available, Fire + Flour + Fiddles — A Farming Fiesta is the kind of event that will sell out quickly.
