Shimmering Pines at Tarlee brings a new summer fair with blooms, music, and fun for the whole family
It’s blooming beautiful at Shimmering Pines Farm, and they’re gearing up to welcome visitors to something truly magical. On February 7–8, 2026, this Tarlee hotspot will transform into a fairytale wonderland for the very first Fairytale Farm Fair — an enchanting new event set to capture the hearts of flower lovers of all ages.
After facing a few challenging years of drought, the team at Shimmering Pines Farm have been unable to hold their much loved sunflowers festival so they have been hard at work creating something fresh and resilient. To overcome the dry conditions, they’ve installed 50 irrigated rows of spectacular summer blooms that visitors can stroll through, camera in hand, capturing countless Instagram-worthy moments. The rows will be bursting with zinnias, cosmos, statice, dahlias, strawflowers, and more, in a vibrant sea of colour and joy.
The inaugural Fairytale Farm Fair will run from 10am to sunset, offering a full weekend of country fun and family entertainment. Enjoy live music, market stalls, food vans, bubble fairies, unicorn rides, tractor displays, and flower-inspired competitions.
Passionate owners Jane and Simon Hogan have been sharing their love of flowers since opening the farm in 2021. Their much-loved Sunflower Festival quickly drew crowds and built a loyal following. Together with their popular Pizza & Pick nights, Flower Fairy Birthday Tea Parties, and photo-ready flower fields, Shimmering Pines has become a true local favourite.
Now, with the Fairytale Farm Fair, they’re taking their dream even further, creating a magical, flower-filled experience for families, friends, and visitors to enjoy together.
