Shimmering Pines Farm Welcomes Families to The Fairytale Farm Fair This Summer
A world of magic awaits at Shimmering Pines Farm, with the Fairytale Farm Fair bursting to life on February 7 and 8.
Held from 10am through to sunset, the Fairytale Farm Fair is a brand new event for the team at Shimmering Pines, built around beautiful blooms and a touch of magic. Across two full days, the Tarlee farm will transform into a roaming wonderland where families can settle in, explore the grounds, and let the kids lead the way.
What To Expect At The Fairytale Farm Fair
From the moment you arrive, there’ll be plenty happening. Market stalls will line the site, food vans will be on hand to keep bellies full, and live music sets the tone as visitors wander through the flower field. Fairy-loving kids are in for a treat with unicorn rides, bubble fairies, a petting zoo, roaming characters, face painting, and tractor displays.
There are also prizes for best dressed, along with a fairy garden and scarecrow competition. Entry is free, with cash prizes of $100 for the fairy garden and $150 for the scarecrow! Winners will be announced at the fair. Plenty of reasons for little ones to dress up, slip on a set of wings and get creative.
A New Chapter For Shimmering Pines Farm
At the heart of the fair are Jane and Simon Hogan, the owners and visionaries behind Shimmering Pines. Stunning summer blooms have been lovingly planted to create a colourful backdrop for the weekend. Thirty-five rows of flowers, including zinnias, cosmos, statice, strawflowers, marigolds, and more, offering plenty of space for families to stroll, stop for photos, and soak up the atmosphere.
This event marks a fresh chapter for Shimmering Pines. After a few tough years shaped by drought, the much-loved Sunflower Festival had to be put on hold. Instead of waiting for conditions to change, Jane and Simon chose to do things differently, creating a fair that works with summer rather than against it. The result is a flower-filled experience designed to bring people together and give families the perfect place to create memories.
The Fairytale Farm Fair pulls together everything Shimmering Pines has become known for since opening in 2021 – a relaxed atmosphere, thoughtful experiences, and plenty for kids to do.
With February fast approaching, the crew at Shimmering Pines can’t wait to welcome visitors through the gates for what promises to be a lively, colourful, and enchanting weekend in the Mid North.
