Arthur’s Place – A Burra Beauty with Comfort and Charm in a Cracking Location

If you haven’t spent time in Burra, the quaint little Mid North farming town is well worth exploring. Not only is it steeped in history, its Main Street is as lively as they come. From locally made wool fashion to hot pastries straight from the oven (even on a Sunday), Burra is bursting with surprises — and Arthur’s Place is the perfect base to soak it all in.

Owned by the Quinn family, Arthur’s Place is a beautifully restored 1930s stone cottage, originally built by local man Arthur Harris. Just like much of Burra, this place honours its roots — while offering all the modern comforts of a luxury BnB. It’s bright, clean and seriously comfy, with three queen-sized bedrooms (each with a ceiling fan and split system air con), a blissful rain-style shower, complimentary WiFi, and even smart TVs in both the lounge and dining rooms.

The fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher, is perfect if you want to whip up a feed — but with Burra’s Main Street only a two-minute stroll, we reckon you’ll be tempted by what’s on offer.

Owner Jodie Quinn, who also runs the much-loved ‘That Country Store Burra’ (part newsagent, part fashion and gift store, part treasure trove), knows exactly what guests want. And it shows in every thoughtful touch around Arthur’s Place.

While you’re in town, pop into BullRush (the iconic Aussie country brand born in Burra), check out Iris and Wool, grab a pastry from Waters Bakery, or a coffee from one of the many cafés in town. There’s a popular pizza place right across the road from Arthur’s Place, and Coopers award-winning butcher shop is a must visit for meat lovers.

Burra might be small, but it’s mighty — from the beautiful Burra gorge to the fascinating mining heritage, it’s the kind of town that’s perfect for wandering, discovering, and winding down.
