Discover Barossa’s Sweetest Winter Festival

Melissa Smith

Glowing wine, glowing lanterns, and a winter festival worth toasting

Kies Family Wines’ first-ever Moon Lantern Festival is lighting up Lyndoch this winter with an event for all ages.

Bring the family on Saturday, July 12, and enjoy an afternoon of live tunes from Jamie Blechynden, mouth-watering dishes from Asian Tucker, and a Kidz Zone where little ones can decorate their own lanterns. There’s even a $50 Monkey Nut Café voucher up for grabs for the most creative design.

While the kids are kept busy, take a moment to unwind with a glass in hand and enjoy the full range of Kies Family Wines and some of the Barossa’s best craft beers. Also, be among the first to try the Tilly Luna Sweet Riesling.

This luscious, limited-release wine was crafted from a small parcel of fruit that survived the worst Barossa frost in decades and is dedicated to Tilly Luna Kies, born May 30 to Bronson and Lidija Kies. In a fitting twist, the bottle features a stunning glow-in-the-dark label.

“We wanted to create something truly memorable to celebrate the arrival of our special little girl, Tilly Luna,” says Bronson Kies, winemaker and proud dad. “This festival is not just for our family, it’s for everyone who wants to share in a little bit of magic.”

Adult tickets are $10 and include a commemorative wine glass and a tasting of the new release. Kids aged 5–18 are $5, and under-fives are free.

Session one (12-2:15pm) is already waitlisted, so grab your tickets for Session two (2:30-4:30pm) before they’re all snapped up!
