Cluckin’ Brilliant – Bukirk Glamping, where Rustic Meets Ridiculously Good Fun

If a glamping getaway filled with country charm, a splash of luxe, and a whole lot of farmyard fun sounds like your thing — welcome to Bukirk Glamping & Luxury Cabins, just outside Clare in South Australia’s wine-soaked heartland.

Created by local legend and dream-chaser Alison “Chook” Meaney, Bukirk (like the noise a chicken makes)  isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s a total vibe! Think adults only five-star accommodation, Clare Valley views, and a pig named Kevin “Kevi” Bacon who’s made quite the name for himself among glampers.

What began as a bit of a pipe dream for Chook, has hatched into an award-winning glamping village that’s as unique as its name.

Each “impeckably”-styled tent has its own glamorous theme — there’s the Araucana, Frizzle, Leghorn, Silkie, and Wyandotte — a fabulous flock that all offer super comfy beds, heating for the winter, cooling for the warmer months, and your own ensuite bathroom. The Wyandotte takes country romance up a notch, with a bell-top roof stargazing roof, where you can lie in bed and gaze up at the stars.

For those after a little more feathered-up fancy, the luxury cabins deliver next-level comfort, with a serious side of style. Three luxury cabins — Cluckingham Palace, The Perch, and Nesting Box — come with everything you’d expect from boutique accommodation. From the private balcony where you can soak in the stunning views, to the custom kitchen facilities, everything has been thoughtfully considered so you can simply relax and enjoy the experience. It’s country luxury without compromise — because unforgettable getaways should be for everyone.

And that includes guests with mobility challenges! Cluckingham Palace ensures no one misses out on the magic. Designed with both comfort and accessibility in mind, this elegant cabin features step-free access, wider doorways, a spacious layout, and a fully accessible ensuite bathroom.

Guests staying in the coops also have access to Bukirk’s incredible communal facilities — and trust us, they’re worth clucking about. There’s a mineral heated pool for summer dips, a crackling fire pit for cool nights under the stars, and a communal kitchen and entertaining area perfect for cracking a bottle of Clare Valley wine with friends.

Set alongside the Clare Racing Club and just minutes from some of the Valley’s best cellar doors, Bukirk offers both peace and proximity. You’ll fall asleep under starry country skies and wake to vineyard views, and you might even like to soak in the outdoor bath under the old windmill.

Whether you’re looking for a country escape, you’re celebrating a special occasion, or planning the perfect proposal, “Chook” has curated the perfect combination of fun, freedom and fresh air that keeps guests coming back.
