One of the Mid North’s most big-hearted nights under the stars is back, with Team Elmo once again inviting everyone to Bendleby Ranges to help raise funds for Variety SA.
This year’s event comes as the iconic Variety Bash undergoes a major route change. After flooding cut off parts of the planned Queensland and New South Wales route, organisers have opted for a South Australian-focused adventure dubbed “Pivot to Pirie”.
For Team Elmo’s Charlie Luckcraft and Kelvin Tiller, the mission remains the same — raise as much money as possible for sick, disadvantaged and special needs children.
Chasing Another Golden Door Panel
The pair have become well known on the Bash circuit for setting ambitious fundraising targets, reaching the coveted $50,000 “golden door panel” milestone for the past two years with the support of local communities and generous businesses.
Ahead of this year’s event, they’re hoping for a few more big hearts — and big wallets —to get behind the cause.
“Along with all the great things Variety does for sick and disadvantaged children, we also have Adelaide Crows legend and Variety Champion Tony Modra in the front of our minds,” Charlie said.
“Mod’s commitment to the charity is incredible. He’s an adored member of the Variety Bash family and he’ll be sorely missed at this year’s event.”
A Night Under the Stars at Bendleby
With live music from The Voice star Tiffney Reynolds, a roaring bonfire, great food and plenty to keep the kids entertained, the Bendleby Bash fundraiser is shaping up to be another memorable night under the stars.
Camping and accommodation are also available at the award-winning Bendleby Ranges for those wanting to turn the fundraiser into a weekend escape.
Every dollar raised helps Variety SA support children and families doing it tough, while the Bash convoy continues its colourful tradition of bringing support and smiles to regional communities across South Australia.
