Enjoy a March Long-Weekend With Horses, Bubbles and Live Music at Barossa Polo Classic
The Barossa Polo Classic is bringing a touch of royal-level sport to regional South Australia this March long weekend. This is the kind of thing the Royal Family does when they’re not busy waving from balconies!
Set against the vines at Château Tanunda’s private polo field on Sunday, March 8, this twilight event is your chance to experience a bit of that upper-class energy.
You’ll get two fast-paced short-form polo matches as well as the always chaotic tradition of divot stomping. There’s also a bit of fashion in the field if you’re keen, kids’ activities to keep the little tackers busy, and a live music afterparty once the ponies clock off for the day.

Fancy, Fun or Family Picnic Style
There are optional upgrades if you’re feeling fancy. Get in quickly if you want to book yourself a ticket in the Veuve Clickquot VIP Marquee, where you’ll find free-flowing beverages and a grazing menu by prominent Adelaide Chef, Sam Worrall-Thompson.
Or you can step into the Stables, the high-energy precinct which includes a three-hour beverage package and live DJ entertainment.
General admission is welcome too — pack a picnic, bring the kids and make a right royal evening of it.
When the final chukka wraps up, the party kicks on until 10pm with golden hour views across the vines and live music carrying things into the evening.
It’s a pretty solid excuse to for a long weekend of staying and playing in the Barossa — and you don’t even need to know a thing about polo.
