Mini Highland Cow Cuddles and Country Art Workshops are Waiting at Barossa 1887
If you thought the Barossa Valley was just about world-class wine, you clearly haven’t met Strawberry and Beef Cheeks, Barossa 1887’s adorable Highland cows.
The two very fluffy locals are the much-loved residents of the family-owned vineyard at Rowland Flat offering hands-on animal experiences and country art workshops.
And if Highland cow cuddles are on your bucket list, there’s still time to make it happen these school holidays.
The unique Pat & Create Clay Highland Cows experience combines 30 minutes of quality cow time (yes, that includes pats, brushing, feeding and plenty of photos) before guests head inside for a guided clay workshop with local artist Karen Nickels.
Participants will create their very own Highland cow sculpture to take home – no previous experience needed.
There’s even a grazing platter and a hot drink or wine included while you get creative.
For those keen to try something different, the Linoprinting With Highland Cows experience also gives visitors the chance to hang out with Strawberry and Beef Cheeks before heading into the rustic barn to carve and print their own Highland cow artwork.
Some sessions have already sold out, but there are still opportunities available for anyone wanting a last-minute school holiday adventure.
From fluffy cow cuddles to creativity in the countryside, this might just be one of SA’s cutest school holiday experiences.
