Historic Anlaby Opens its Gates once again at Annual Spring Festival
Anlaby Station, home to one of South Australia’s oldest continually operating Merino sheep flocks— and one of the state’s most historic homesteads — is officially on the market. But before the grand property changes hands, the public has a rare chance for an open inspection of a a different kind, during its annual Spring Festival.
Set on 745 hectares at Hamilton, near Kapunda, Anlaby has been lovingly restored by owners Andrew Morphett and Peter Hayward, who relocated from Sydney 20 years ago to bring the property back to its former glory. Listed by Colliers Real Estate, the sale includes the 35 room grand mansion, 11 acres of formal gardens, adjoining farm land, equestrian facilities, and a remarkable collection of heritage buildings — from the stables and Clydesdale pavilion to the shade houses and walled vegetable garden.
